Traditionally the club champion award is based on points for runs, wickets & dismissals. The points system allows us to see the impact a player has in their team throughout the season. Below is a list of Club Champion award winners in each grade.
The Bendigo cricketing world was shocked by the untimely death of Ian Phillips at the age of 38 in 1982. Ian was both a club and association volunteer for a number of years. The club found it fitting to honour him by naming the club champion award the “Ian Phillips Memorial Club Champion”, with the league also following suit naming the Championship Trophy (awarded to the club who has the most wins throughout the season in all grades) after the long time cricket tragic.
